suppose you have three concave mirrors A B and C of focal length 10 cm and 15 cm and 20 CM.
For each concave mirror you perform the experiment of image formation for three values of object distances of 10cm ,20 cm and 30 cm.
By giving reason answer the following :
1) For the three object distances identify the mirror /mirrors which will form an image of magnification -1 .
2) Out of the three mirrors identify the mirror which would be preferred to be used for shaving purposes.

Answer:

Focal length of mirrors:

A= 20cm;

B= 15cm

C= 10cm

Object distances for these mirrors are 30cm, 10cm and 20cm respectively.

1. Mirror c will produce image of same size as object because object is placed on c.

2. Mirror B can used as shaving mirror because when object is kept in between P and F we get virtual , erect and magnified image.
