It can be done by placing a negatively charged body/ object near it...

Due to induction the side of the sphere near to body will acquire negative charge and opposite part will have negative charge which can further be grounded..the negative charge would be neutralised and the sphere is left with positive charge...

Hope it helps ya:)

In this question, we are asked to make a spherical conductor positively charged by the process of induction.

  • You can accomplish this by putting a negatively charged person or object close by.
  • The side of the sphere closest to the body will develop a negative charge due to induction, and the opposite side will have a negative charge that can be grounded.
  • The negative charge will be neutralized, leaving the sphere with a positive charge.
  • Induction is one technique. A charged object gets inducted into a neutral conducting object by being brought close to it without being touched.
  • Electrons in a neutral conductor will be forced (or induced) to move by the presence of a charged object nearby.
  • A charging technique called induction charging involves charging a thing without actually contacting it with another charged object.
  • The charged particle is held close to an uncharged conductive substance that is grounded on a neutrally charged material during the charging by induction process.
  • When a charge is transferred between two objects, an uncharged conductive substance produces an oppositely polarized charge.
