As soon as I stepped out of the car, I was overwhelmed by the sight that lay before me. From the porch of the farmhouse, all I could see was a tremendous stretch of greenery all around. There were a multitude of flower beds, some dedicated to flowers, others to vegetables. There were a few flowers in bloom and the vegetables were yet to appear on the plants. Short hedges served as boundaries between the vegetables and flowers. Multiple lines of shady trees stood at the end of the flowerbeds and beyond the trees were open fields, that seemed to stretch all the way to the horizon.

It was like a feast for the eyes. Various shades of green vied for attention. The trees in particular called out to me and invited me to walk on the path that they shaded. As I strolled along the narrow path, I caught the smell of fresh pine. It was mild, but immensely refreshing. There was no trace of smoke in the air, just pure air with faint fragrances of the vegetation around. The visit to the countryside was indeed a treat for the senses!
