Step-by-step explanation:

No. of green sectors= 5

Total No. of sectors = 8

Probability of getting a green sector = 5/8×100 = 62.5 %

Probability of not getting a green sector = 37.5%

Solution:

Part (i)

Observe that given figure,

Total number sectors =8

Total number green sectors marked G =5

Total number red sector marked R =3

Part (ii)

Find the probability of getting a green sector.

Probability of getting a green sector is,

\[\begin{array}{l} = \frac{{favorable\,outcomes}}{{Total\,Outcomes}}\\ = \frac{5}{8}\end{array}\]

Part (iii)

Find the probability of not getting a green sector.

Probability of not getting a green sector=1-P(getting a green sector)

                                                                   \[\begin{array}{l} = 1 - \frac{5}{8}\\ = \frac{{8 - 5}}{8}\\ = 8\end{array}\]
