• Be in safe place till the shaking has completely stopped.

• Be calm and patient to take care of others.
• Check out for debris (if people beneath it)
• Render first aid to injured
• Call for help.

3. Measures to undertake when hit by a earthquake

• To expect aftershocks and be prepared.
• Check out any casualty.
• Providing medical treatment to injured.
• Check out for broken power lines or gas leaks and make them safe.
• Be safe from broken buildings ,ceilings or examine the damaged premises entirely to avoid further casualties.
• Provision of basic needs to people.
