Given:

Mass 40 kg and 50 kg are separated by 10 cm.

To find:

Gravitational force ?

Calculation:

  • Let gravitational force be F:

F  = \dfrac{G(m1)(m2)}{ {d}^{2} }

 \implies F  = \dfrac{(6.67 \times  {10}^{ - 11}) (50)(40)}{ {(0.1)}^{2} }

 \implies F  = \dfrac{(6.67 \times  {10}^{ - 11}) 2000}{ {10}^{ - 2} }

 \implies F  = \dfrac{13.34\times  {10}^{ - 8} }{ {10}^{ - 2} }

 \implies F  =  13.34\times  {10}^{ - 6} \: N

So, the force is 13.34 × 10^(-6) N.

  • We don't experience any attractive force because the magnitude of the force is so small [in the order of 10^(-6)]
