Ionization ptential can be calculated using the equation=

As ionization potential can be defined as the energy required to excite the electron from a particular state to infinite, so ionization potential is given by the following equation:

= E_{\infty }-E_{4}

E_{\infty }, is the energy of hydrogen in the infinite shell.

E_{4} , is the energy of hydrogen in the fourth shell.

=0-(-50 a.u.)

=  50 a.u.

So, Ionization ptential found to be 50 a.u.
