Solution:

Total money spent for mowing lawn = Rs. 28500

Rate of mowing per square metre = Rs. 38

We will calculate what is Area of trapezium by the cost required to mow lawn and rate of mowing per square metre.

Area of trapezium  = Total money spent/Rate of mowing per square metre

                               = 28500/38

                               = 750 sq. m

Area \  of \ trapezium = \frac{1}{2} * (sum \ of \ parallel \ sides) * (distance \ between \ parallel \ sides)

750 = \frac{1}{2} * (24 + 36) * (distance \ between \ parallel \ sides)

Distance \ between \ parallel \ sides = \frac{750*2}{60}

Distance \ between \ parallel \ sides = \frac{75}{3} = 25 \ metre

The distance between parallel sides is 25 metres.
