Answer:

15%

Step-by-step explanation:

let the total amount invested be x

hence first invested amount be 3x

similarly second and third investment should be 4x and 5x

given that he earns 35% in first investment

i.e 3x + (3x*35/100)

and in second investment he earned is

4x + (4x*50/100)

and in third investment he loses 25%

i.e (-5x*25/100)

therefore total amount earned will be

= 105x/100 + 200x/100 - 125x/100

= 180x/100

= 9x/5

therefore gain percentage will be

= (9x/5)*100/ 12x

= 9x * 100 / 5*12x

= 900/60

= 15%

hence he is overall gain is 15%

Given :   ratio of the three investments is 3: 4: 5

Suresh earns 35%, 50% on the first two investments but loses 25% on the third,

To Find : overall gain or loss

Solution:

ratio of the three investments is 3: 4: 5

Hence let say three investments are 300x , 400x and 500x

Total = (300x + 400x + 500x) = 1200x

Earn on 1st = (35/100)300x  = 105x

Earn on 2nd = (50/100) 400x  = 200x

Loos on 3rd = (25/100)500x = 125x   Hence Earns = - 125x

Total Gain = 105x + 200x  - 125x

= 180x

overall gain  % = (180x/1200x) * 100

= 15 %
