Class 8 students received highest number of copies

Given :

Suresh has 90, copies . He distributed 1/3 of copies to 10th and 1/4 of remaining copies he distributed to 9th class students . Rest of the copies he the gave to 8th class students

To find :

The class of students received highest number of copies

  • Class 8

  • Class 9

  • Class 10

  • None of these

Solution :

Step 1 of 4 :

Calculate number of copies distributed to class 10

Total number of copies of Suresh = 90

Now Suresh distributed 1/3 of copies to 10th

So number of copies Suresh distributed to class 10

= 1/3 × 90

= 30

Step 2 of 4 :

Calculate number of copies distributed to class 9

Number of copies left = 90 - 30 = 60

Now Suresh distributed 1/4 of remaining copies to 9th

So number of copies Suresh distributed to class 9

= 1/4 × 60

= 15

Step 3 of 4 :

Calculate number of copies distributed to class 8

Number of copies left = 60 - 15 = 45

Now it is given that the rest of the copies Suresh gave to 8th class students

So number of copies Suresh distributed to class 8

= 60 - 15

= 45

Step 4 of 4 :

Find the class students received highest number of copies

The number copies Class 10 received = 30

The number copies Class 9 received = 15

The number copies Class 8 received = 45

Since 45 > 30 > 15

So Class 8 students received highest number of copies

Hence the correct option is Class 8
