Suresh is having a garden. In his garden there are different
types of trees and flower plants. One day due to heavy rain
and storm one of the trees got broken as in the figure.

The height of the unbroken part is 15 m. the broken part of
the tree makes an angle 300 with the ground. Answer the
questions given below.

a) 1
b)1⁄2
c) √3/2

d) 0
2) What is the length of the broken part of the tree?
a) 20 m
b) 15 m
c) 30 m
d) 7.5 m

3)what was the actual height of the tree ?
a) 15 m
b) 30 m
c) 45 m
d) 15 √3 m

Note: The given figure is as follows above

☯️Solution:-

  • What is the value of sin 30⁰

⇒ Value of sin 30⁰ is 1/2

  • What is the length of the broken part of the tree

⇒Broken part of the tree is AC, so to find it we have

tan 30⁰= AB/BC

1/√3=15/BC

BC= 153m

Now By pythagorus theorum

AC²= BC²+AB²

AC²= (15√3)²+(15)²

AC²= 675+225

AC²=900

AC=900

AC=30 m

Thus length of the broken part of the tree is 30 m .

  • What was the actual height of the tree

As tree is broken into two parts that is AB and AC, so total length of the tree will be AB+BC= 30+15= 45 m

  • At what distance from the foot of the tree, the top touches the ground

15√3 m

  • Which ratio is tan of angle ?

adjacent side / opposite side
