Suresh is three years older than amita. six years ago Suresh was four times the Amita. Find their present ages.

let amita age be x

than suresh's age is x+3

six years ago

amita's age =x-6

suresh's age = x-3

therefor ,x-3=4*(x-6)

x-3=4x-24

-3x=-21

x=7

therefor amita's age is 7 years

suresh's age is 10 years

Shobha age is three years older than his brother.

Six years ago, Shobha 's age was four times the age of suresh.

To find :-

Their present age.

Solution:-

Let the present age of Shobha be x and his brother be y years.

A/Q

Shobha is 3 years older than his brother.

→x = y + 3x=y+3

Six years ago,

Shobha age was = ( x - 6)

Suresh age was = ( y - 6)

Shobha age is 4 times the age of suresh.

→( x-6) = 4(y-6)(x−6)=4(y−6)

→x-6 = 4y -24x−6=4y−24

→x-4y = -24 +6x−4y=−24+6

→x-4y = -18x−4y=−18

Put the value of x.

→y + 3 -4y = -18y+3−4y=−18

→-3y +3 = -18−3y+3=−18

→-3y = -18-3−3y=−18−3

→-3y = -21−3y=−21
