Surgeons quite often perform minor surgeries on a portion of skin by spraying ether which has very low boiling point. Explain why?

The surgeons spray ether before performing minor surgery because ether has a very small boiling point and it boils fast by taking the heat from that portion of the skin which is to be cut and makes our skin numb and when surgeons cut that part of skin for performing surgery we fell less pain .
