saare was half meter less she had a loss of 220 rs.

we know
cost of half meter saare= 220rs
so cost of 1m sarre= 220*2
                               =440rs

susma paid 2640rs
lenght of saare susma brought = 2640/440
                                                  = 6 meter

therefore the lenght of saare brought= 6-(1/2)
                                                           =(12/2)-(1/2)
                                                           =11/2
                                                           =5.5

hence lenght of saare brought home= 5.5m

Hey dear,

There's a very simple answer to your question:-

➡She bought a saree worth Rs. 2640

➡When she came home she found that the saree was half metre less than the shopkeeper had told her.

➡And so she was at a loss of Rs. 220.

Now the solution begins...

➡ We know that half metre saree costs Rs. 220 since she was at a loss of Rs. 220 when she found that the saree was half metre less.

➡So the cost of one metre of saree is Rs. 440 since 220×2=440.

➡Now we have to divide 2640 with 440 to get the total length of the saree.

➡ 2640÷440= 6

➡So the total length of the saree was 6 metres.

➡But she found that the saree was half metre less. So, the length of the saree that she brought home is 5.5 metres.
