Sushma is now 15 years older than Vijay but in 3 more years she will be 8 times as old as vijay was 3 years ago.how old they now?

Let Present age of sushma be x yrs.
And, Present age of Vijay be y yrs.

We are given, x = y + 15 ...............(1)
             and, x + 3 = 8(y-3)
                 = x + 3 = 8y - 24
                = x- 8y = -27
        By Eqn (1)

          y + 15 - 8y = -27
        so, -7y = -27 - 15 
              -7y =  -42

So, y = 6 yrs
and x = 21 yrs

Hence , Present age of sushma = 21 yrs
And , Of Vijay = 6 yrs.
