Answer:

The following sum can be solved by a sequence concept .

For the following sum/problem it is given that , each day , he distance Susie walks will increase by 200 km . So it means that her walk is progressing and will be differ by 200km , so that is why we need to solve this by arithmetic sequence .

Formal to be used -:

aₙ = a₁ + (n - 1) (d)

where aₙ is the nth term, a₁ is the first term, and d is the common difference

 \underline \purple{Given →}

→a₁ = 600 m (distance in the beginning)

→n = 4(because we are solving for the distance for the 4th day)

→d = 200 m

 \underline \purple{Solution:}

aₙ = a₁ + (n - 1) (d)

a₁₈ = 600 m + (4-1)(200 m)

a₁₈ = m = 1.2km( in meter 1200 m)

 \underline \bold \red{Therefore \: ,  \: Susie \:  will  \: walk  \: 1.2 km  \: on  \: the \:  4th \:  day  \: of \:  her  \: program}

Answer:

Susie will walk 1.2 kilometers on the day 4 of the walk program.

Explanation:

Given :

Susie begins a new walking program

She walks on first day = 600 m

She will increase her walk by 200 m each day.

To Find:

How many kilometers will she walk in day 4 of the program

Solution :

Since we are given that on he first day of the program Susie walks 600 m

After it she will increase 200 m each day

then her walk on  the day 2 of the program = 600 + 200 = 800 m

her walk on the day 3 of the program = day 2 walk + 200

                                                              = 800 m + 200 m = 1000 m

her walk on the day 4 of the program = walk on day 3 + 200 m

                                                               = 1000m + 200 m = 1200 m

Since we know that 1 km = 1000 m

so 1200 m = 1200/1000 = 1.2 kilometers

Hence we have calculated that Susie will walk 1.2 kilometers on the day 4 of the walk.
