let the score in 1st test be x
then, the score in second test will be x+10
now,
according to question
5(x+10) = x^2
=> 5x+50 = x^2
=> x^2-5x-50=0
=> x^2-(10-5)x-50=0
=>x^2-10x+5x-50=0
=>x(x-10)+5(x-10)=0
=>(x-10) (x+5)=0
=> x=10 or x=(-5)
thus the score in 1st test is 10
then, the score in second test will be x+10
now,
according to question
5(x+10) = x^2
=> 5x+50 = x^2
=> x^2-5x-50=0
=> x^2-(10-5)x-50=0
=>x^2-10x+5x-50=0
=>x(x-10)+5(x-10)=0
=>(x-10) (x+5)=0
=> x=10 or x=(-5)
thus the score in 1st test is 10
