Given:

Distance walked by Suzzy towards the south direction = 25m

Distance walked by Suzzy by taking a left turn = 20m

Distance walked by Suzzy by again taking a left turn = 25m

Distance walked by Suzzy by taking a right turn = 15m

To find:

The direction and the distance from which she is standing now.

Solution:

Consider north towards the upward direction, south towards the downward direction, east towards the right-hand side and west towards the left-hand side.

Suzzy is travelling towards the south and walks 25m and takes a left turn which is towards the east. She walks in this direction for 20m and again takes a left which is towards the north direction. She walks for 25m in this direction and takes a right turn which is towards the east direction. She walks in this direction for 15m. The distance travelled and the directions are shown as in the figure below:

The distance from the starting point to the finish point = 20+15=35m

The direction in which Suzzy is standing now is towards the east direction.

Hence, Suzzy is standing at a point 35m towards the east direction from the starting point of her journey.

Suzzy is standing at a point 35m towards the east direction from the starting point of her journey.
