Swacch Bharat is a campaign launched by PM Narendra Modi on 2nd October 2014 on the birth anniversary of the ‘Father of our Nation’ Mahatma Gandhi. The ambitious program aims are to enhance India’s beauty by proper sanitation of streets, roads and infrastructure across the country by October 02, 2019, the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation. It is India’s biggest ever cleanliness drive.
Through this campaign the government of India would solve the sanitation problems by enhancing the waste management techniques. Clean India movement is completely associated with the economic strength of the country. The basic goals behind launching the Swacch Bharat Mission are to make the country full of sanitation facilities as well as eliminate all the unhealthy practices of people in daily routines. The first cleanliness drive in India was started on 25th of September.
Though the government is putting forward its best efforts, yet we have so far not received the desired result on the front of cleanliness. There is need of an attitudinal change on the part of all citizens to fulfill the mission of a clean India in its true spirit.
