Because our taste receptors recognise sweet taste faster than bitter taste

Receptors for sensing sweet taste lie near the front end of the tongue.
- The tongue contains numerous differentiated epithelial cells called papillae. These contain the taste buds of the tongue.
- The taste buds which sense sweet taste occupy the largest volume compared to the other taste buds. They also lie toward the front end of the tongue.
- On the other hand, taste buds which sense bitter taste occupy a small region at the back of the tongue.
- Hence, we sense sweet taste easily compared to bitter taste.
