Hollaaaa mate...

Eating so many sweets can lead to tooth decay .

The cause is that the food particles like sweets stuck inside the teeth and bacteria will act on it and produce a kind of acid. This acid has the capacity to corrode the hardest substance in our body, the tooth enamel.

So by brushing with toothpastes which are basic, the acid can be nutrilise and prevents toothdecay.

Hopes it helps.

Sweet tooth leads to tooth decay. Which is caused by the action of Bacteria on food particles remaining in the mouth and acid is formed.

The pH of the mouth falls below 5.5 and the tooth enamel dissolves resulting in cavities.

Toothpastes are generally basic, they neutralise the excess acid produced in the mouth and prevent tooth decay.
