To find:

(i) Calculate the price per gram to show which is better valued.

Solution:

Given, 120g bags are of £1.49 each.

So, 1gm would weigh £ (1.49/120)

= £ 0.012

Again,

= 100gm loose sugar are of £0.89

So, 1gm of it would weigh £ (0.89/100)

= £ 0.0089

Clearly, the latter has a better price per gram value.

Loose sugar has the better price per gram value.
