Solution is given below:

Explanation:

a) The atomic number of an element is calculated by the number of protons present in it. The mass number of an element is calculated adding the number of protons and neutrons .

  • For atom P , mass number (A) is 17 and atomic number (Z) is 8 .
  • For atom Q , mass number is 40 and atomic number is 18.
  • For atom 16P8 , mass number will be 16 and atomic number is 8.
  • For atom R , mass number is 40 and atomic number is 20.

b) Atoms , 17P8 and 16P8 are isotopic pairs because isotopes have same atomic number but different mass number.

c) Bohr model of atom Q is attached. Q is Argon atom , because it has an atomic number of 18 and mass number of 40. It will have an electronic configuration as 2,8,8.
