If level of stomach reduces then naturally the functions of stomach stops . now , what are the functions of HCl : It is an acid which makes food acidic in stomach for functioning of pepsinogen which always act in acidic medium . so , pepsinogen will not work properly and therefore there will be no break down of proteins in our body .

therefore .... we can say that decrease in HCl level causes improper digestion.
