PM Modi surveyed affected regions in West Bengal and Odisha, and announced Rs 1,000 crore assistance to West Bengal and Rs 500 crore assistance to Odisha. The cyclone weakened into a deep depression and caused rainfall and winds in NE states. Around 6.58 lakh people have evacuated in Bengal and Odisha. The meteorological department chief said that a slight delay in the onset of monsoon in Kerala can be expected as a result of Amphan and will arrive on Kerala's coast on June 5.
