Tabulate the difference between frictional force and magnetic force .

  • Nature/type: Frictional force is a contact force ie it can act only when two bodies are in contact. Magnetic force is a non contact force and can act even when two bodies are not in contact.
  • Effect on bodies: Frictional force opposes the relative motion between two bodies. Magnetic force attracts or reppels two bodies.
  • Examples: When a person is pushing a heavy box from left to right direction, frictional force acts from right to left direction. Force between a magnet and an iron piece is an example of magnetic force.
