solid has its own shape, size and volume..
liquid can get any of the shape it depends on which it is ..
gases not having any shape fixed shape or size.. it can be compressed which liquid and solid can't be..

there is difference between there partials / molecules also as in solid they r tightly packed while in liquid they can move but not all but in gas they r not packed so they can move freely so gas can be compressed while liquid and solid can't and solid has fixed shape because of this but liquid and gas don't have and liquid can take any shape as its particals can move a bit..

hope it helps..

Albert01: according to kinetic theory of matter there is difference of kinetic energy in solid liquid and gas
Albert01: which results in difference in intermolecular force

the main difference between them is the force of attraction between the molecules of that means difference in intermolecular force

Albert01: due to the difference in kinetic energy of the molecules of the different states of matter leads to the difference in intermolecular force due to which every state of matter looks diffrent
Albert01: there are 5 states of matter they are solid, liquid, gas, plasma and Crystal
Albert01: Many other states are known to exist only in extreme situations, such asBose–Einstein condensates, neutron-degenerate matter, and quark-gluon plasma, which only occur in situations of extreme cold, extreme density, and extremely high-energy color-chargedmatter respectively. Some other states are believed to be possible but remain theoretical for now. For a complete list of all exotic states of matter, see the list of states of matter.
