Take 2 bricks, one is wrapped in jute and another in polythene. Which one will be easier to drag and why?

It is so because, the surface area of polythene is less compared to the surface area of jute, which will give rise to a lot more friction between the surface of the jute and the ground, thus making it harder to drag.

If we assume that polyethene bag can withstand the weight of brick without expanding or breaking.

So both are strong enough to carry a brick.

Therefore It will be easier to drag polyethene bag because polyethene has a smoother surface, which means lesser friction, this lesser force than that of jute.

On the other hand if the polyethene is not capable to hold the brick, and expands then It will be easier to drag jute bag.

Because when you pull the polyethene bag the energy is used in expanding the polyethene molecules and you need to drag with a higher energy which will make it harder.
