Answer:

diameter = 3cm

diameter= 2.5 cm

now circumference of 10 rupee coin= dπ = 3*3.14= 9.24cm

now circumference of 10 rupee coin= dπ = 2.5*3.14= 7.85cm

now ratio = 9.24/7.85

Given : 10-rupee and a 5-rupee coin

To Find :   ratio of their (i) Areas (ii) Circumferences

Solution:

Diameter of Rs 10 coin  ≈  28 mm

=> Radius = 28/2 = 14 mm

Diameter of Rs   5 coin  ≈  22 mm

=> Radius = 22/2 = 11  m

Area = π ( radius)²

Circumference = 2 π radius

ratio of their  Areas   =   ( ratio of radius ) ²

 = ( 14/11)²

=   196/121

= 1.62

ratio of their Circumferences  = ( ratio of radius )

= 14/11

=  1.27
