• The soluble substances completely mix with water whereas the insoluble ones form a separate layer without mixing.
• Sugar gets dissolved in water completely to form a homogenous mixture.
• Mustard seeds and coconut oil are immiscible and they form a separate layer- sink or float in water depending on their density ( mustard seeds sink whereas coconut oil floats).
• Coconut oil does not mix with water as water is a polar solvent and coconut oil is non-polar in nature.
