Ball bounces back due to Newton's third law of motion that to each action there is an equal and opposite reaction. It happen because when ball is dropped , there is some velocity of the ball and hence ball is undergoing certain acceleration due to gravity and ball has also some mass so ball is exhibiting some force on ground so it's also undergoing the reaction force .
