Take a plane mirror and focus the light coming from the sun on a wall. Can you see a bright spot on the wall?
It is because the light rays falling on the mirror are bounced into the wall.
Can you produce the same bright spot with the help of any other object having a rough surface?

No, you cannot produce the same bright spot with the help of any other object having a rough surface.

  • At the point when light strikes a smooth surface, it gets reflected in the right point which is equivalent to the point of incidence light.
  • But because of the unevenness of the harsh surface, the light gets reflected in odd points or scattered in different directions which endlessly change from the point of incident light and appropriately the intensity of reflected light gets modified.
