 Bring the rubbed comb near tiny pieces of paper as shown in figure. You will

notice that pieces of paper are attracted toward the comb.

(a) Is this type of force is always attractive or repulsive. Explain the cases.

(b) What will happen if the distance between the charges it reduced?

(c) Is this force contact force or non-contact force?

a. its attractive and its called static force or the electrostatic attraction in this the insulators like ebonite rod , balloons etc get charged up as the electrical charges on such bodies cannot flow continuously.

b. if the distance is reduced the attraction between the charged bodies will reduce too.

c. Electrostatic force is a non contact force.
