The observation will be as follows -

  • When the disk is at rest we will be able to clearly identify each of the seven colours in the 7 segments of the disk.
  • But, when we will rotate the disk, the disk will appear as white in colour.
  • This happens because the blend of the 7 colours of rainbow is actually white colour. When the disc rotates in a fast speed, the colour in a particular spot gets overlapped by other six colours in fraction of seconds and that's why our brain visualises the whole thing as the blend of 7 colours or white colour.
  • This helps to gain a conclusion that white light is a mixture of seven colours of rainbow.
