When ammonia reacts with hydrochloric acid ammonium chloride is formed

NH3 + HCl --> NH4Cl

In this reaction, two compounds form one single compound. Such type of reaction is called a combination reaction. There are many other examples of this type of reaction.

White color smoke is produced in this process.

Name of this smoke is ammonium chloride.

There is a reaction between the hydrochloric acid and the ammonia, and you can see it as a white gas (if the solutions are concentrated)
HCl + NH3 -> NH4Cl
