Take a small cotton ball and place it in tumbler filled with water. We will observe that it will float, but after sometime it will start sinking in water, as shown in diagram. Give reason. I am a 6th class student pls answer accordingly

firstly cotton is a light weight material so it's float's in water when u suspend/release it into water later on It has the on of properties like absorbing so water is absorb by the cotton ball.later on the initial weight of cotton ball is not equal to it's finally weight. so buoyancy force which is acting upwards is less than it's weight.
