Take a small potted plant. Cover base portion of the plant tightly and hang the part upside down. Observe the plant for a week. Based on your observation how can you support phototropism.

The stem grows upwards towards light and the roots grow downward towards gravity.

The stem of plants always bends towards light and the portion that is dark grows longer.

Thus, this is the concept of phototropism which signifies that side of stem which does not get light grows straight whereas part of stem which receives light bends towards it.
