Take a tennis ball. Release it from a height on a hard ground. You will observe that the ball after striking the ground bounces several times. Answer the questions 1 what is the potential energy and kinetic energy when we release the ball. 2 why does the ball bounces back after striking the ground. 3from where does the ball get the kinetic energy for motion after striking the ground 4 what happens to the energy of the ball when the ball stops bouncing

1. PE= MAX

KE=0

2. bcoz till coming to the ground the ball attains some kinetic energy and to make the total Mechanical energy constant some energyis converted into PE .

3.when PE is decreased than kE increases by same amount to make TOTAL ME constant.and the ball gets some KE for motion

4.energy of ball becomes zero when it is stopped and its energy ia transfered to environment in any form like heat.
