Take dilute sulphuric acid in a test-tube and put a few zinc granules into test-tube. You would observe that :
(a) Zinc granules changes to powder
(b)Colour of zinc changes from grey to white
(c) Size of zinc granules keep on decreasing

On adding zinc granules to sulphuric acid there occurs a lot of change in its state.

The answer to this question is that the zinc granules which are gray in color changes into white zinc sulphate.

With this reaction, hydrogen gas is evolved.

The reaction being exothermic, releases heat increasing the temperature.
