Step-by-step explanation:

Let The ratio of Rohan and Rahul's present ages be = 5:3

Let Rohan's present age be =5 x

let Rahul's present age be = 3x

so ( 5x + 4 ) /( 3x+ 4 ) = 1/1 => ( 5x - 4 )= ( 3x + 4 )

5x - 3x = 4 + 4 = 2x = 8 = 8 / 2 = 4

x = 4

Now ,

Rohan's age 5 × 4 = 20

Rahul's age 3 × 4 = 12

So , ratio between Rohan nd Rahul's age before 4 yrs

= ( 20 + 4 ) / ( 12 - 4 ) = 24 / 8 = 3 / 1

= 3 : 1

hoped it helped!!
