Given :   i) an equilateral triangle   , (ii) an isosceles triangle and

(i) a scalene triangle.

To find :  anything special  about altitudes and medians

Solution:

An altitude of a triangle is a line segment through a vertex  perpendicular to the side opposite the vertex

Median of a triangle is a line segment through a vertex  which bisect the  side opposite the vertex

(i) an equilateral triangle

all the Altitude & Median   are same   and coincide

(ii) an isosceles triangle

one altitude & one median is same

other two are different

iii) a scalene triangle.

none of the altitude & median is same

all are different
