Take small cotton ball
and place it in a tumbler/bowl filled with water .Observe it for at least 10 min.Will it float or sink in water and why?

Answer:

The cotton ball will sink in water even though it is a light object because the cotton ball will absorb the water and become heavier and this leads to sinking.
