Given : ten 5-rupee coins

make a pile (place them over each other).

To Find  : Name the shape of this pile

(i) Curved Surface Area

(ii) Total Surface Area

(iii) Volume

Solution:

5 Rs coin

Diameter = 22 cm

=> Radius  R = 22/2 = 11 cm

Thickness = 1.4 cm

Coins = 10

Hence height H  = 1.4 x 10  = 14 cm

shape of this pile is cylindrical

CSA = 2πRH

= 2 (22/7) * 11 * 14

= 2 * 22 * 11  * 2

= 968 cm²

TSA  =  CSA  + 2πR²

= 968  + 2(22/7)11²

= 968 + 760.57

= 1,728.57 cm²

Volume  = πR²H

= (22/7) 11² * 14

= 22 * 121 * 2

= 5,324 cm³
