Explanation:

When hydrogen gas and carbon dioxide gas in two different jars are placed one over the other then their intermixing will depend on two factors.

One is pressure and another is density of the gases.

As it is known that density of hydrogen gas is less than the density of carbon dioxide gas. As a result, hydrogen gas will remain at the upside of the carbon dioxide gas.

Hence, we can conclude that less denser gas will remain in its jar whereas more denser gas may occupy its space.
