The most important factor for photosynthesis is light. The rate of photosynthesis depends on the quantity and quality of light. The chlorophyll molecule in green leaves absorb light .

now , pluck one leaf from each plant

let's call leaf from plant from dark as A leaf and other as B leaf

1. boil both the leaf to kill the cells and stop any ongoing processes .

2. now boil both the leaf in isopropyl alcohol to remove chlorophyll , so we can easily study the presence or absence of starch .

3. now dip the leaf in iodine .

we observe that leaf A didn't true black and blue while leaf B did .

this shows that sunlight is essential for the survival of plant and with absence of it , it will soon die .
