Taking example of an element of atomic number 16 explain how electronic configuration of an atom relates to its position in modern periodic table and how valency can be calculated on the basis of atomic number

firstly the element sulfur is the element with atomic no. 16....now the electronic config. of sulfur is 2,8,6...... its position is related by the no. of ele ctrons in the outermost shell as  the element with no.of electron 6 exists in group no. 16
