On March 27, Gorongosa National Park will proudly host the Grand Opening of Edward O. Wilson Biodiversity Laboratory.

The new facility, which will be the first of its kind in Mozambique, represents an exciting milestone in African science and conservation. Not only does the laboratory position Gorongosa to become a leading destination for biological research, but it will also help train a new generation of critically needed Mozambican scientists. Furthermore, research undertaken by the laboratory will form some of the foundational work in restoration ecology, and can be used to help restore damaged ecosystems the world over.
