The kind of electronic appliances that were present in our grandparent's time were very much different from what we find nowadays.
1) Before people used to hear news on radio and hope for their favourite songs to play on the radio while nowadays we can choose whether we want to listen to a particular song or not.
2) TV was basically antenna based and the antenna would catch signals to give us black and white moving pictures. We have smart TVs nowadays.
3) The energy consumed during the times of our grandparents wasn't much as compared to now. There were less electrical appliances in use in our grandparent's times.
