(i) How did they preserve seasonal food items without refrigeration.

they used to preserve the food items through drying

some food items like mangoes were kept in saltwater and turned into pickles

they even used dark cool places to store vegetables for some time

(ii) Why was there less noise pollution in their time?

as there were fewer transport facilities the noise pollution was less

they usually had a radio and there were no other means

the less use of technology leads to less pollution

(iii) Can those practices be used now?

Yes, the practices can be used if we try realising the importance of a safe and healthy environment

(iv) What challenges did adolescent girls face in their time?

  • early marriage
  • sanitation issues
  • no proper education
