Answer:
The portrait of a Lady
Explanation:
1)Following are the ways in which we come to know that the author's grandmother was a religious person (i) She hobbled about the house in a white saree, always carrying and telling the beads of her rosary. ... While the children were taught, the grandmother would sit inside the temple and read scriptures.
2)When both the author and his grandmother were in the village, they had a very inter-dependent lifestyle. They would do almost everything together. The entire day would be divided into several activities in which they would help each other. But after they shifted to the city, there was a crack in their relationship. This was because Grandmother no longer understood the topics that the author would study in school. The medium too was English which made her completely aloof from the topics that the author was studying. Later during college when their rooms were separated, the last thread of friendship was snapped.
3): The author's grandmother, indeed, was a strong person in character. The following instances can reinstate the above statement (i) The author compares his grandmother to the 'winter landscape in the mountains', which breathes peace and contentment.
